Childcare Taskforce
Early Childcare is an Economic & Workforce Crisis
The Greater Green Bay Chamber is leading conversations about childcare in an effort to increase awareness and drive change in our region and state. What we know is that the current economic model is not sustainable and it will take collaborative efforts of private and public sectors to make meaningful progress towards a more stable childcare landscape.
Complex Challenges Require Actionable Strategies
We have identified 4 strategies to accomplish this goal and are looking for volunteers to serve on work groups to advance each strategy. Please complete the form below and rank the strategies 1-4 based upon your interest and ability to support.
Employer Engagement
The childcare crisis is a talent retention and economic development issue. Through awareness and education, our task force aims to align our county employers to engage in efforts to stabilize childcare for local talent.
Small Business Stabilization
In-home childcare sites are a critical part of the overall solution, but these entrepreneurs need more support than just licensing and regulation guidance. Finding avenues to reduce barriers to entry and increasing support of benefits, training and resources, we hope to improve the entrepreneurial experience.
Talent Wage Investment
The Early Childcare Educator profession experiences un-livable wages. In order to sustain classroom ratios & access-stability for families, increasing the wages of our ECE is essential and requires community investment.
Connect Employers & Parents to Advocacy
While our task force will not engage in advocacy, we know that advocacy is a component that cannot be overlooked. Our task force is committed to being aware of the advocacy efforts and connecting employers & individuals to organizations where they can exercise their civic voice.
